About RuleBase

RuleBase was originally created under the name 'Cellucidate' at Plectix Biosystems in 2008. It leveraged existing Kappa technology to provide a web-based modeling and simulation platform in the cloud. Plectix was a venture-based startup based in Cambridge and Somerville, MA. 

Cellucidate and associated intellectual property were sold to Harvard Medical School in 2010. The product was renamed, the kappa technology was made open source and kappalanguage.org was launched. 

Development of Rulebase is ongoing at the Fontana Laboratory. Simulation is no longer supported and functionality has been scaled back until resources permit. 

RuleBase is a free resource for the academic community.
